CompuCorps.org is an Ottawa based charity which provides a full range of technical assistance to Canadian non-profits and charities in the form of IT volunteer projects, youth media programs and employment, tech training and access to technology for Aboriginal youths, low-income famlies and new Canadians.

TechFeather is a CompuCorps.org program that provides complete refurbished computers and software, as well as technological support for Aboriginal youth.

We are bridging the digital divide that hinders those without access to computers giving them an equitable opportunity to learn and participate in our information society. Like the others disadvantaged people, Aboriginal youth also need your help now. Click here to go to the TechFeather website.

TechReuse is CompuCorps' most visible program because it interacts directly with the community and has been featured in the news many times. TechReuse helps bridge the digital divide through affordable technology.

The program is the basis for many activities undertaken by CompuCorps. The program itself consists of receiving donations of high tech equipment, refurbishing this equipment and redistributing it within the community to those who need it most.

The entire process relies heavily on donations and volunteers.

TechReuse is a service of CompuCorps.org providing computer hardware, training and technical support to charities, non-profits and people with limited access to technology.

  • Refurbish your equipment as much as possible
  • Recycle what cannot be fixed
  • Redistributed them to charitable organizations in your community
  • Issue a tax receipt for the market value of the donated equipment.

Volunteer as a TechMentor on a short-term technology project with a non-profit organization or community group. We will work with you to identify projects that match your preferences, skills and schedule.

Volunteering will give you the opportunity to develop new skills, meet new people, support the non-profit sector, and make a difference to the community you live in.

You will be asked to offer 30-40 volunteer hours to a non-profit or community project, to be completed within a 3 month period. There is flexibility to work from home, in your free time, and depending on the project, to be a virtual TechMentor, regardless of which province you live in or where the non-profit organization is located in Canada.
